As part of an ongoing commitment to its customers and to overall quality, Magnum Piering, Inc. has recently expanded its installer training programs to include an advanced training/certification course entitled the Master Installer Training Program.  The course is held annually in late summer at the company's corporate headquarters in West Chester, Ohio.  The two-day event consists of both classroom and field work in product applications, geotechnical report interpretation, a review of basic structural engineering concepts, field management and production, quality assurance, and equipment maintenance.  The course is intended for project managers, estimators, equipment managers, and field crew managers from specialty foundation contractors throughout the world.  Novice through advanced installers are welcome.  The goal of the event is to provide ongoing skill training on the installation of Magnum helical piles, Magnum push piers, and other Magnum products as well as to reinforce the knowledge-base of installers in geotechnical, foundation, and structural engineering.

The first Master Installer Training Program was held August 30th and 31st, 2011.  The 2-day intensive seminar was attended by roughly 30 different Installers from across North America including Alaska, Puerto Rico, and Ontario, Canada.  The course featured a full-scale load test as well as live "hands-on" demonstrations of equipment and products.  Distinguished speakers included Dr. Howard Perko, Ph.D., P.E., author of the internationally acclaimed text book on helical piles, James Cherry, P.E., a seasoned structural/foundation engineer and former manager of CTL|Thompson's IAS accredited helical pile test lab, and Michael Charlton, the President and CEO of Pro-Dig, LLC.  Based on an exit questionnaire, the course received a 97% rating for overall satisfaction from attendees.  Below are some of the comments from August 2011 attendees.
